Crafted with exceptional standards of luxury, reliability and personalized care, the all-new RX Plug-in Hybrid underlines the difference between an electric vehicle and an electric Lexus.
WHICH ELECTRIFIED LEXUS IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
HYBRID
PLUG-IN HYBRID
A Plug-In Hybrid is the fusion of an electric and hybrid vehicle, bringing together the advantages of both. It combines the convenience of a gasoline vehicle with the benefits of an electric vehicle. Charge it up and relish its all-electric range for short trips across the island or use it as a conventional hybrid that can be refueled at any gas station. EVEN YOUR DAILY COMMUTE WILL FEEL ELECTRIFYING
MILES AND MILES OF EXHILIRATION
How much joy can an electrified Lexus bring you in an average week? Consider this. The RZ 300e Premium has a manufacturer-projected range of up to 266 miles.{2024RZ|2} And, according to a recent AAA Foundation Driving Survey, U.S. drivers average nearly 30 miles per day on the road. Which means, especially when driving in ideal conditions, the answer is more than you might have ever expected.
MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY DRIVE
Understanding how range is impacted can help you get the most out of your electrified Lexus.{1} As with conventionally powered vehicles, aggressive acceleration, hard braking and uphill driving will use more energy. But, unlike conventional vehicles that are most efficient at higher speeds on highways, battery electric vehicles are designed for greater efficiency at lower speeds on streets and roads where most driving is done. Other ways to help optimize miles out of every charge include gradual acceleration and even pre-conditioning the temperature of your electrified Lexus while it’s plugged in.
RANGE FACTORS
The range you experience may differ from what’s shown on the Multi-Information Display (MID). Like other Lexus vehicles, RZ predicts expected range based on your recent driving and may not accurately predict actual range if your driving pattern changes.
Vehicle range is impacted by a variety of factors, so please plan ahead and avoid letting your charge get too low.
- Vehicle Speed
- Where & How You Drive
- Outside Temperature
- HVAC & Accessory Use
- Charging Habits
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Lexus offers three types of electrified vehicles: hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric (referred to as Battery Electric, Battery EVs, BEVs, or simply EVs).
All-electric vehicles can offer drivers convenience, potential savings, and can help the environment by reducing CO2 emissions. They’re also fun to drive, courtesy of the immediate torque response from the electric motors, DIRECT4 all-wheel drive technology, as well as the smooth acceleration and quiet cabin.
All-electric vehicles can also be conveniently charged at home, overnight and on-demand, as well as at public charging stations when out and about. No more trips to the gas station required.
Thanks to the use of electric motors instead of internal combustion engines, all-electric vehicles provide smooth acceleration, immediate torque response and a surprisingly quiet ride experience.
The driving range of an all-electric vehicle will vary depending on how/where you drive, charging habits, accessory use, outside temperature and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
Gradual acceleration, flat terrain, and even pre-conditioning the temperature of your Lexus while it’s plugged in can potentially have a positive effect on driving range. However, please note that all-electric driving range may decrease significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, charging habits and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
